Riyadh, November 1st: Al Manhal signed an electronic publishing & distribution agreement in Saudi Arabia with Al Shegrey Bookstore for Publishing & Advanced University Services. The agreement was signed by Mr. Tariq Saeed Shaalan, General Manager of Al Shegrey; and Mr. Mohamed Attia Shafi, Content Development Manager at Manhal; in the presence of Mr. Hassan Jmiei. Al Manhal offers integrated solutions in the field of electronic publishing for content published in the Arab world of books, journals and university theses and conferences and in Arabic, English and French.
In accordance to the agreement, Al Shegrey content will be made available on Manhal platform in order to meet the needs of researchers and beneficiaries at universities and scientific centers and institutions all over the world. The two sides stressed their keenness to support the project to keep up with developments and advancements in the world of electronic publishing and producing new electronic content, through the latest content distribution electronic platform in the Arab worldwide. Mr. Tariq al-Shaalan added “we are very pleased to have come to this agreement and hope to continue to cooperate with all electronic publishing of Journals.”
Mr. Mohammed Attia Shafi, Content Development Manager at Al Manhal; said “through this agreement, we will be able to provide services and integrated solutions within specialized databases using advanced technologies in order to keep track with the electronic publishing phenomena and open channels of global Arabic content, where Al Manhal the only full-text searchable platform and the most sophisticated for specialized academic and scientific content will offer best-in-class technologies and developed research tools, guaranteeing te protection of intellectual property and copyrights of all publishing partners.
Mr. Tariq al-Shaalan added that this rapid shift towards electronic content and increasing demands for it from universities and scientific and academic institutions is posing a significant decline in paper content, and so as did Al Shegrey, most Arab publishing houses must understand the need to find alternatives to the publication and distribution of content to achieve financial returns necessary to support the activities of future developments.
