Abu Dhabi, March 16: In an effort to participate in the most prominent conferences of library affairs regionally and globally, and to highlight its active role and leadership in creating a full Arabic database under the umbrella of a single integrated platform, Al Manhal is proud to announce its participation in the Special Libraries Association Conference – Arabian Gulf Chapter, which will be held from the 17th-19th of March in Abu Dhabi.
Al Manhal will hold two presentations during the conference, in which it will unveil its latest service, the Arab Citation Index. This tool is critical for both librarians and publishers alike, as it assesses Al Manhal’s leading journals from the Arab and Islamic worlds, in order to measure the authority of one journal next to another.
Additionally, Al Manhal will also release its latest product ‘Middle East Strategic Studies Online’ (MESSO), which highlights political, economic, social and security issues in the region. Moreover, Al Manhal will also release another new product called ‘Islamic Finance Hub’ which is a database comprised of multiple document types such as books and journal articles relating to Islamic finance. The database holds content in Arabic, English, French and Malay; in order to facilitate Arab and Islamic finance content to a greater region across the globe, previously unavailable to them.
As Mr. Mohamad Al Baghdadi spoke about launching Arab Citation Index, MESSO, and Islamic finance hub at SLA, he said: “SLA – Arabian Gulf Chapter holds a huge importance to eLibraries due to the high number of attendees from the Arab world, and that is why we chose to launch our new products and services at this authoritative event. Through this launch we can inform the most prominent libraries and interested parties of these products & services and its importance to them. Additionally, it is a great opportunity for us to discuss ways of improvements and expansions to open our eyes to new horizons of productive hard work.
On the sidelines of the seminars Al Manhal will hold, and as a way to thank those who participate in the seminar, Al Manhal will be giving away two mini iPad’s as a thank you token for their interest and presence.
